Living in the UK, rain is one thing we are not short of. Today is no exception so grabbing a few recordings of rain sound effects out the back window was the first thing we did. Often I find setting up a microphone just under an open window and leaving it for about 10 mins gives me enough material to find clean sections to loop. This is because we are based in a town, and even on the outskirts where we are, a person, car or something else usually works it way into the recording. Here is one of the recordings of rain we made today.
Next up we needed some glass rubs and squeaks for a project we are working on. We simply used a slightly damp cloth and rubbed it on a drinking glass. Check out the free glass rubs, squeaks and creaking sound effects here.
