Today has seen three batches of new sounds added to the library totaling 84 new free soundfx. These have been contributed by the amazing Marcel Gnauk and Scott Lawlor, with the game tones added by myself. Here is a quick break down of what you’ll find that’s new when you browse the library today!
F1 racing cars
As many of you will know, Marcel of Free To Use Sounds regularly contributes sounds. In fact he contributes so fast, I sometimes struggle to keep up. On his travels around the world with partner Libby, they have captured some amazing recordings, from wild weather right through to industrial ambiences and more. They’re currently in Singapore and among a large batch of new sounds which include harbours, weather, urban ambiences, insects and more are a new batch of Formula 1 racing sounds, as well as some Porsche and Ferrari ones too.
The sounds contributed include a massive pack that features the entire F1 race. We haven’t included them all, but should you decide you want more (and files up to 192kHz) then they are available from Marcel’s website here.
What I love about these sfx is how well they have been recorded. Not only can you hear the professional microphones and recorders in action, but Marcel has done a great job in also capturing the ambience of the track too.

New horror drones and other sound design elements by Scott Lawlor
Scott is out newest contributor here at zapsplat.com and boy, has he not disappointed us so far. Scott has a real talent for creating soundscapes and ambiences using sound design techniques and so far, his contributions have been very well received. Today we added 15 of his latest creations. There is a selection of different drones, textures and soundscapes on offer, ranging from dark, sinister horror sounds through to more mysterious and even some futuristic, science fiction style sounds too.
I highly recommend you check Scott’s sounds out, even if you’re not currently looking for drones etc. You will find them all at his profile, here.
Game sounds
Today I created 39 new game tones, general sounds that might be useful to game developers. They range from point collect tones, collecting coins or other treasure, negative harsh tones through to toggle or point tally sounds. They are all available to download via the Game Sounds category here.
That’s it for today. Tomorrow I will continue adding more free sound effects so check back for more then!
